A demo build: Emberwood Campground
A full, photo-led site design for a fictional park, built to show what's possible rather than tell you about it.

Emberwood Campground doesn't exist. There's no real client behind it, no real park in Copper Lake, Ontario, because there is no Copper Lake, Ontario. It's a demo build: a complete design system, built the way I'd build a real independent campground's site, so you can see the actual craft instead of taking my word for it.

Why it is built this way
A stranger arrives on a phone with one question: do you have a site that fits my rig, on my dates? So the first screen carries a plain headline, one line about the place, and a search bar for dates, site type and guests. The phone number sits in the header for the guests who would rather call.
What each design decision solves
- A trust bar under the hero. Site count, acreage, the year the park opened and the open season sit in one strip, so a stranger checking whether this is a real, established place gets the answer without scrolling.
- Site types as cards with a from-price. Guests choose by rig and budget, so RV, tent, cabin and yurt each get a card and nobody opens a rate table to learn what a night costs.
- Amenities listed as facts. Amperage, wifi, showers, laundry and the dog park are plain items, not adjectives a guest has to decode.
- A rates note that says what is included. It states what a night covers and that there are no resort fees, which answers the question an office hears most.
- A gallery that shows the place. In this demo the photo slots are placeholders. On a real build they are your own captioned photos, organized by loop.
- A "when to come" band. Open season and closed months are stated outright, so the off-season question stops arriving by phone.
- Rules in collapsible panels. Check-in, quiet hours, pets, cancellations and fires are all readable before booking, without a wall of text.
What is invented here
Everything about Emberwood is made up, including its rates, phone number, dates and guest reviews. They show how each section reads. None of it describes a real business or a real guest.
Real client sites will replace this over time. Until they do, this is the honest way to show the work: clearly labelled as a demo, not dressed up as a testimonial.
If you'd like to talk about your own park's site, get in touch and tell me about it.
